The Sultan, from Disney's Aladdin, is Jasmine's doting, but slightly niave, father. He insists that Jasmine marry a prince, and if she can't, then she'll just have to marry his advisor Jafar. The Sultan has no idea of Jafar's true plans, but blissfully goes on running his kingdom without a clue of what's really going on.

I like the part when the Sultan says "I'm not going to be around forever" because it's nice to know that in his old age he's not afraid of dying. But before he does, he just wants to make sure that Jasmine will be okay first.
